It isn't supposed to feel this lonely.

You got the diagnosis last week. Or six months ago. Or maybe it isn't official yet, but you know there's something.

Either way, you're surrounded by paperwork, the emails and phone calls don't stop, the waitlists are months long, the online Reddit or Facebook advice is conflicting, and if one more person says "I knew a kid who..." you may lose it.

You spend the 10 minutes in the pickup line reading the 15th article about ABA. At 11pm you're laying in bed wondering if you should call the therapy center again to ask about the waitlist timeline. Every decision you make you spiral because some moments it feels right and others it feels like you're messing everything up.

It isn't more information that you need.
You have too much information and not enough confidence or clarity.

You need someone who understands the systems, can learn what really matters to you, connects with your child, and can help guide you through making the next step. Someone who helps you identify what your child and family want, not what your neighbor or the stranger on the internet tells you is important.

HOW IT WORKS

Over 3 months, we meet, plan, and build together.

 1

Two 50-minute Zoom sessions per month

Private sessions just with us. We work through my 3-part framework together. We start with building clarity and confidence before moving into strategic implementation. Then we finish our time together transforming you into an empowered advocate for your child. These are diagnosis questions, IEPs, sibling dynamics, sensory regulation, sleep, or communication to name a few.

MEET YOUR GUIDE

 Hi, I'm Kathryn.

I'm Kathryn Petersen, MA, BCBA. I'm a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, a parent guide, and the person that hundreds of families have called when they didn't know who else to call.

I've spent over 15 years in this field working with clients and parents in clinic, home, and community spaces. I've gotten more panicked phone calls or texts than I can count. I've seen the system from the inside, and I've seen what it does to families who try to navigate it alone.

I built Foundations Coaching because the time after diagnosis needs more support than a pamphlet or a paragraph of "recommendations." The waitlists are long, the language is confusing, and moms are second-guessing every thought they've ever had about their child.

Moms need a real person who says "I can listen and understand." Someone who says "here's what to do today that won't overwhelm you into paralysis."

That's what I do.

-Kathryn

What other moms are saying.
"Working with Kathryn changed everything. For the first time autism didn't feel so scary."

-L, mom of 2-year-old
"It was the first time someone actually listened to my concerns and gave me real help. She made me feel like I could do it."

-S, mom of 3-year-old
"I came to Kathryn drowning. By our second session I had an organization system, a plan, and the language to push back against the school. I have no idea what I would have done without her. She gave me my evenings back."

-M, mom of 3-year-old
IS THIS FOR YOU?

Foundations Coaching is the right fit when...

Foundations is for you if

-Your child has recently been diagnosed (or is in the process) with autism.

-You feel overwhelmed by the volume of decisions, services, and unknowns.

-You want personalized 1:1 support, not just another Facebook group of well-meaning strangers.

-You're willing to do the work between sessions (with my templates and plans, it's genuinely doable).

-You want a guide who understands both the service provider side and the family experience.

It's probably not the right fit if

-You're looking for clinical or behavioral therapy for your child. I coach you, not them, though helping you find the right therapy is absolutely something we do together.

-You're looking for a single one-off call. Foundations is a 3-month process by design.

-You want someone to tell you exactly what to do without your input. Everything I do is co-created with you.

FAQs

What if I'm not even sure my child has autism yet?

Foundations is created for parents who are deep in the diagnosis process or have a recent diagnosis. If you're earlier in the process than that, the free consult is a great place to start. We can figure out what level of support fits where you are. I'm very honest about when my services will benefit you and there's never any pressure to enroll.

I work full time. How much time does this actually require?

Two 50-minute sessions a month, plus 30-60 minutes of implementation work between our sessions (with my templates and action plan doing most of the heavy lifting). Most moms tell me it actually saves them time because they stop spiraling online for hours every night.

Can I extend after the 3 months?

Yes! Many moms continue on a month-to-month basis afterwards or fade to a monthly check-in plan. We can talk about it as we get close! There's no automatic renewal and you can choose what comes next.

My child has been diagnosed for a few years. Is this still for me?

It can be! Foundations is named for those early days, but I get families at every stage. If you've never had a true coordinated plan, or you need to rewire your mindset around everything on your plate, we'll make Foundations work for where you are.

What if my partner doesn't think we need this?

I hear this often. But often it is one parent who takes on the major mental load of everything. The research, the scheduling, the mental load often lives more with one parent. I've had many Discovery Calls with both parents to explain the true transformation that comes with this program. This is a great time to talk about what real, personalized support actually looks like and why it's different than the well-meaning advice from coworkers or strangers online.

Do you take insurance?

Most of the work we do in this program doesn't fit into the containers that insurance requires and so I'm not able to bill insurance for these services.

What if I can't afford this right now?

I see you. If Foundations isn't the right financial fit for you this season, ask me about a one-time Power Hour ($297) or my Autism Roadmap + Toolkit ($27). The free consult is also a great first step and even if we don't end up working together, you'll walk away with more clarity.

How is this different from joining a Facebook group or following an autism Instagram account?

Online groups give you 400 conflicting opinions and Instagram gives you 30-second tips. Neither of these fully understand your child, your values, or listen to your real concerns. Foundations is one person with real experience on the inside, focused on your family, with a real plan that updates as you go.

You don't have to figure this all out alone.

You've already done the hardest thing and started looking for help. The next step is a free 15-minute Discovery Call. We'll talk about your child, where you are, and whether Foundations is the right fit. If I don't think it is, I'll be honest and will direct you to resources that may be a better fit for you this season.

If it is a fit, you walk away with a plan and we will walk this journey together. You'll feel that immediate weight removal.

You are not behind. You are not failing. You're at the beginning of something hard. You don't have to do it alone anymore.
